Best Nightlife -(Lounge)
1/5 ultralounge
(Nightlife - Lounge)
9 Star StHong Kong 852 2520 2515
Description:
WAN CHAI. A sophisticated lounge above the One-Fifth Grill (where, incidentally, you can get a great meal try the mixed grill with beef medallion, Boston lobster and seared goose liver). High ceilings give 1/5 a wide-open spacious feel, rare in space-challenged Hong Kong, and the overall vibe is cool and laid back. DJs spin a funky mix of soul and R&B, keeping the volume reasonable so conversation isn't hindered. Designer cocktails complement the designer labels most of the clientele is wearing think fruity infusions and classy martinis.
MO Bar
(Nightlife - Lounge)
15 Queen's RdHong Kong 852 2132 0077
Description:
CENTRAL. It just doesn't get any more stylish than this. The Landmark Mandarin Oriental's MO Bar is THE place to see and be seen. The space was created by internationally known designer Adam Tihany, with amazing attention to detail. Textures abound, from the floor (stone, mosaic tiles, carpet) to the walls (leather upholstery, metal, wood) to the furnishings (velvet, leather, wood). There are glass water walls, sculptural metal fixtures and walnut window shades, and the whole is done in classy earth tones. It all adds up to a sort of mid-century modern vibe, very chic and very "right now."
